Introduction

In this paper am going to focus on how my spiritual life began and how it has developed over the years. I will also focus on how the bible and the society have influenced my beliefs. The society also has been the source of my faith, values and beliefs not forgetting the bible it plays a major role in my journey of spirituality (Sidney, 230). There are many other factors which further influenced my beliefs. I will further share my life experiences that have greatly shaped my beliefs. According to my spirituality God is the creator of the universe and he is a spirit.

Ever since I was a child, I grew up in a Christian family. At first I only went to church because my parents did. As time went by, I came to realize the importance of me going to church. It was interesting to be taught Christian values and   apply them in them normal life situations. As young as I was I tried as much as I could to live according to the teachings of the bible. In school, religious education added value to ma spirituality learnt how to read the bible and other spiritual texts. Sometimes I faced challenges to live according to the bible teachings but I tried very hard to boost my spirituality.

The bible used to be my main inspiration and it has remained to be up to date (Sidney, 230). As much as my religion and the society have contributed to my faith values and beliefs, the bible has been my main source of faith values and beliefs. For instance my faith as a Christian comes from the teachings of the bible and it teaches me that there is only one God who is the creator of the universe. In our society, there are values which are held up high for Christianity .I have often looked up to Christians accepted by the society and try to imitate them as my role models.

According to Sydney, despite the sources of ma values beliefs and faith, other things still influence my beliefs (Sidney, 230). Examples include; our cultural practices, science and technology and my peers. Despite my Christian beliefs, some of our long existing cultural practices influence my moral beliefs but some correspond with my Christian belief but others are against my spiritual beliefs. Although science and technology is part of us and we benefit from it, it is seen to be competing with God’s creation. For instance, new inventions in medicine like test tube baby’s formation without sexual intercourse.

I do believe in God as the creator of universe and as the Supreme Being in the entire universe. According to my own belief, God is the giver of life. He is a spirit. God is also a consuming power. According to the bible, (john 1; 1), in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. This clearly describes the Devine nature of god.

In my spiritual journey, there are experiences and events that contributed greatly in shaping my beliefs. I have attended a number of seminars and workshops like ‘life in spirit seminar, education for life and behavior change. In such seminars people share their own spiritual experience, we share our strengths and weaknesses as a result we shape our beliefs positively.

In conclusion, my journey of spiritual started very early during my childhood. It has not been easy. It has taken me a lot of courage and endurance to be where I am today. Despite the difficulties I still look forward to nourish my spiritual journey. Up to date the bible remains my main source of inspiration asserts Sydney.
